Description
Learn how to use the principles of composition and basic color theory to create your own unique abstract painting. Your instructor will introduce elements of art and provide the steps you need to create visually interesting compositions. Intuitive creation is welcome, too! The focus will be non-objective painting. All experience levels welcome.
Supplies List: Easels are available for students in the classroom. Painting supplies are not included; Students are responsible for bringing supplies to the workshop.

Learn basic to advanced drawing techniques in graphite and charcoal at your own individual pace. In this four-week course, we will learn to draw still life, architecture, and landscape compositions. Each new lesson begins with a simple exercise to build confidence and improve your skills. All experience levels welcome- the instructor will meet you where you are.

Description
Learn how to use design principles to create your own unique artistic compositions. Your instructor will introduce elements of art and provide step-by-step instructions to create visually interesting ink drawings and paper collages. Not a fan of step-by-step instructions? That’s okay, intuitive creation is also welcome! What you will learn in this course can be applied to all of your favorite art media. All experience levels welcome- the instructor will meet you where you are.
Supplies List: Easels, craft knives, cutting mats, glue, construction paper, are available for students in the classroom. Drawing supplies are not included; Students are responsible for bringing supplies to the class.
As a multimedia artist, Paul's practice ranges from painting and photography to digital collage and animation. The work often relates to light, pattern and topography. He is particularly interested in observing moments of un-covering and re-covering, examining the act of transformation.
Paul received a B.A. from the NCSU College of Design and an MFA from Western Carolina University. He has participated in artist residencies at The Bascom Center, Vermont Studio Center, I-Park and Keystone Art Space. Paul's work has been exhibited across the U.S. in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Currently he is a visual arts instructor at Mitchell Community College.

Description: This is a unique opportunity to have an individual session with a master teacher. Sometimes one needs focused work in drawing, or painting in any media. Other times, one needs critique. This might be the perfect time for you to have 100% of the instructor’s attention and guidance. Beginner, intermediate or advanced are welcome. Bring your supplies and pictures.
