Upcoming art contest, "Creatures of the Spring," for all ages with youth and adult cash prizes up to $200. Submission deadline May 16th, and exhibit on May 24th at HEARTS: Let Freedom Spring at Pioneer Springs Community School, free to the community.
As always, ecology and the arts are intertwined with history at HEARTS happenings. Natural springs and the species that live there will be presented by biologist Aaron Kampe. “Creatures of the Spring,” a community all-ages art exhibit in partnership with the Cain Center for the Arts will also be on display. The contest is free and open to all ages. Guest judge, Director of Visual Arts and Education for the Cain Center, Simone El Bey, will select the award-winning artworks for both the Adult and Youth Categories, presenting cash prizes of $75-$200 to the award winners at the event. Artwork submission is due by May 16th.
The Elkin Main Street Advisory Board is accepting submissions from artists for their new rotating sculpture program. The art will be on display for one year in downtown with a honorarium of $1000.00 towards artist expenses.
Application Opens: April 15, 2025.
Applications due (1st round): May 20, 2025.
Install timeframe: by September 1, 2025.
Eligibility: To enter, artists must be 18 years of age or older and reside in the U.S.
Theme: Art by local or regional artists; art reflecting the region’s unique heritage, history, natural beauty, trails, or culture.
Submission Guidelines: All submissions must be original, fully completed, and ready for display. • All entries must have been completed in the last 5 years. • Artists may submit a maximum of three entries. • Selected works will be exhibited in designated locations in downtown Elkin. • Works may be for sale but may not be removed until the conclusion of the exhibition.

The Iredell Arts Council is seeking a talented artist to create the official poster for the 2025 Full Bloom Film Festival, celebrating 10 years of storytelling, creativity, and cinematic excellence! This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your work at Iredell County’s only international film festival and contribute to a milestone year.
The 10th Annual Full Bloom Film Festival (FBFF) will take place on September 11-13, 2025. Known for its dynamic lineup of independent films and immersive community experience, FBFF highlights emerging filmmakers, diverse voices, and innovative storytelling.

Artists have until April 6, 2025 to enter the "Mentors and Guiding Hands Juried Exhibit" held at the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VAPA), 700 North Tryon St., Charlotte, NC.
