2026 Class & Workshop Supply Lists

ADULT CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Supplies to bring to class:

  • A 9"x12" 140 lb. Cold-pressed watercolor paper pad/sketchbook (preferably spiral bound)


Supplies to bring to class:

  • Bring your own painting or drawing supplies and expand your portrait skills in the medium of your choice.


Supplies to bring to class:

  • Bring your own sketchbook
  • Feel free to bring in your own supplies to the first class if you have any.
  • Most supplies will be available for you for the first 2 classes. After experiencing the class, you can decide which type of supplies you prefer before purchasing items for the 3rd class.

  • Your Camera


Supplies to bring to class:

  • Opaque, tubed, artists' Gouache. (I like Winsor & Newton, Holbein, Lukas brands. Make sure to get artists' gouache or traditional gouache and NOT Acryl or Acrylic Gouache)
    • Yellows: Hansa Yellow Light or Lemon Yellow & Yellow Ochre
    • Reds: Quinacridone Rose or Alizarin Crimson & Pyrrol Orange or Cadmium Red Light
    • Blues: Phthalo Blue or Cerulean Blue & French Ultramarine
    • Permanent White (such as Titanium White)
    • Black (any)
  • Brushes in a couple of sizes: one fine liner brush, one 2-6 brush, one 8-12 brush. Any shape of flat, filbert, or round is fine.
  • Spray bottle (household / laundry is good as long as it can spray diffused)


Supplies to bring to class:

  • Sketchbook (Size: Large enough for you to feel comfortable to work with - 9x12 or 11x14 inch)
  • Prismacolor Ebony Pencil, Vine Charcoal Sticks, and Kneaded Eraser

*The instructor will update any other supplies needed once class begins.

Supplies to bring to class:

  • Carving Tools:
    • Linocut carving tool with at least 4 cutter varieties including Small V (#1), Large V (#2), Large U (#5), Small U (#3)  (Highly recommended brand: Flexcut tools; Less expensive alternative: Speedball Linoleum Handle - Black Lino Handle No. 1, Set of 5 Cutters)
  • Printing Ink:
    • Highly Recommended: Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink - Black, 75 ml (oil based, but easier to clean than traditional oil inks); Alternative: Speedball Water-Soluble Block Printing Ink - Black, 75 ml (2.5 oz) (water- based)
  • Versafine clair ink pad
  • 4” Soft Rubber Brayer (Recommended brand: Speedball)

Optional supplies:  These are helpful, but not required. You can always start the class and choose to add these later!

  • 4” Baren
  • Bench hook - this can be helpful if you have trouble holding the linocut while carving
  • More ink colors of your choice
  • Your preferred printmaking papers such as okawara paper, mulberry paper, kozo paper, and more!


Supplies to bring to class:

Watercolor Paper 

  • 9” x 12” 140 lb. Cold-pressed watercolor paper, or 100% Cotton paper

Suggested brands- Strathmore 300 Series, Blick, Arches or Canson Brands

Watercolor Brushes (one brush from each size range / 4 total)

  • # 3/0 - #2 Round (1)
  • # 3 - #6 Round (1)
  • # 8 - #10 Round (1)
  • 3/.4" - 1" Flat (1)

Paint (Tubes or Pans)

  • Lemon & Cadmium Yellow
  • Cadmium Red, Permanent Rose
  • Ultramarine / Cerulean Blue
  • Viridian/Sap or Hooker Green
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Burnt Umber
  • Lamp or Ivory Black and/or Payne's Gray

Suggested Brands: Windsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Holbein, & M. Graham

Other Supplies

  • Pallet for mixing
  • Small hand-towel
  • Hard board (larger than your paper size)
  • Artist, masking or painter's tape

Optional Supplies

Masking fluid, a variety of watercolor scrubber brushes, transfer paper (made for watercolor paper), or a light-box (for tracing images)


Supplies to Bring to Class:

  • Bring your camera to the first class and a laptop with your preferred photo processing system to the second class.


Supplies to bring to class:

  • Carving Tools:
    • Linocut carving tool with at least 3 cutter varieties including Small V (#1), Large V (#2), Large U (#5) (Preferred brand: Flexcut; Alternative: Speedball linocut multi tool)
  • Printing Ink:
    • Two colors of safe wash or water based inks (Preferred brand: Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink; Alternative brand: Speedball Water-Soluble Block Printing Ink)
  • Brayer:
    • Two soft rubber brayers, preferably one 2" and one 4" (Recommended brand: Speedball)

  • Fineliner pen set
  • Erasers - polymer and kneaded
  • Sketchbook (lightweight drawing paper, at least 30 pages, at least 8x10")

  • Bring your favorite journal, photos you don’t mind cutting (make copies!), magazines to share, stamps, etc.

YOUTH & TEEN CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Supplies to Bring to Class:

  • 8.5"x11" Spiral Bound Sketch Book (or larger)


Supplies to Bring to Class:

  • Supplies will be provided for the first class of each session, and then all students will be given a supply list to bring for the weeks following based on what they want to work on for individual projects.


Supplies to bring to Class:

  • Bring an item that you would like to print on: A canvas tote bag or blank canvas for tapestry/banner.
