Pastelist Laurie Basham, will be teaching one day workshop were she will share her pastel painting process and guide you in an exploration color and intuitive mark making to create a lively and colorful flower field

*I would suggest two sets, each one by a different manufacturer and include neutrals as well as intense colors. Faber-Castell makes a set of 74 that are under $30 and great for beginners Richeson Hand-rolled are very nice softer pastels and are less expensive.

Participants will explore the use of color, composition and experience the expressive potential of layering texture and mark making. Join Us for a 2-Day Sunflower Mosaic Workshop! Dive into the vibrant world of mosaics in this creative, hands-on workshop! Over two inspiring days, we’ll explore the beauty of this unique art form and the meaning behind our sunny sunflower theme.
What to Expect:
On Day 2, I’ll guide you step-by-step through grouting, cleaning, and finishing your piece. You’ll also learn how to seal and care for your mosaic so it lasts for years to come.
No experience necessary – just bring your creativity!

Think taking pictures in the daylight is fun? Wait till you see the magic your camera can create in the dark! It’s not that hard, but it does help if you understand how your camera works a little differently in the dark. You will learn special focusing techniques, how to handle exposure, high ISO and noise reduction. We will also talk about how to stay safe and have fun photographing with a buddy.
This is a hands-on workshop that will include in class and off-site learning in downtown Mooresville and possible chosen location. You will be taking pictures and discussing them in class.

Description:
Not your Grandma’s embroidery! This fun class is a contemporary approach to creating fiber art with bold stitches, crazy fibers, cords, ribbons, feathers, metallics, and found objects. Basic stitches will be reviewed before launching into techniques like spider stitch, bullion stitch, stump-work, French knots, padded appliqué, knotting, couching, beading, and more! Exhibit your creation as wall art or attach it to a tote bag or jacket!
No previous stitching experience necessary.
