Description:
In this fun and creative art class, young students explore the world of art through hands-on activities using a variety of materials. They’ll learn about colors, shapes, textures, and patterns while expressing themselves through drawing, painting, collage, and more. The class encourages imagination, builds fine motor skills, and introduces basic art concepts in a playful, supportive environment.

Ah Ra Cho is an artist and art instructor based in North Carolina. She earned her BFA in Asian painting from Hongik University in South Korea and completed her MA at the University of Arts London, where she explored metaphysical themes through contemporary art. Her work focuses on the nature of light and the unseen forces that shape our reality.
Alongside her studio practice, Ah Ra is a live worship painter at her church, using art as a form of praise and reflection. She also leads worship art workshops, creating opportunities for participants to connect with their faith and creativity. With over a decade of teaching experience, she is dedicated to helping students of all ages find and develop their unique artistic voice.

Description
Join Mrs. Ashley for a unique art adventure! Students will explore a variety of materials and subject matters during the creative process of drawing, printmaking, collage, and painting. Come learn the fundamental skills and techniques needed to further explore how to visually express realistic and abstract ideas. Materials will include but are not limited to, pencil, pen & ink, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, and acrylics. Perspective techniques, the Elements of Art, and the Principles of Design will be incorporated in most lessons.

Ashley Bell grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a 1985 graduate of East Carolina University with a BA in Art Education, minoring in Painting. She has taught art in Iredell County at the elementary, middle, and high school levels since 1987. She retired after 32 years of service in 2020. She also taught many years of private lessons and the past 3 years at our Mooresville Arts Summer Academy.
Ashley is spending her retirement time filling in for art teachers in the schools, painting, crafting, as well as teaching adults at South Iredell Senior Center and here at Mooresville Arts.
Even though she loves to spend time painting, she said, "Teaching art is my passion, and I am happy to provide instruction for students at Mooresville Arts. I look forward to seeing the kids every Tuesday!!!
