Three scholarships were awarded to area youth for their winning artwork submitted to the Mooresville Arts 16th annual youth art show competition.

Open to all students in grades K-12, there were 114 entries submitted in this year’s event.

Scholarship winners were Isabella Hamby, a student at Statesville Christian Academy, and Ella Napiervowski, who is a student at the Community School of Davidson.

Lake Norman artist Sandy Thibeault’s Egg Tempera / 23k Gold painting, A Granddaughter’s Dream, has been accepted into the 122nd Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Annual Open Juried Exhibit. The luminous egg tempera technique has been practiced from the Egyptian times through its most famous Renaissance period, to today. The show is on display at the National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, NYC, from January 8 – January 25.

La Mia Nipotina has been selected as part of The National Juried Art Exhibit at the Academy Center for the Arts in Lynchburg, VA. Laura McManus, teacher and Curator of Education at the Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College is the juror. The show juried art from an eclectic mix of painting, sculpture, printmaking, fiber, glass ceramics, wood, metal and mixed media. The exhibit runs from April 6th to the 28th.
